Going green

It’s a pretty good planet. We’d like to help keep it that way. That’s why we have committed to buying “green energy” to run our bottling plant and office. This purchase of 260,000 kWh of renewable energy for our bottling plant alone will prevent 363,000 pounds of CO2 from being released into the atmosphere...the equivalent of taking 32 cars off the road or planting 4,900 trees. We have also replaced all our incandescent light bulbs with fluorescents, and we are vigilant about keeping the by-products of our manufacturing process out of the waste stream.

Yes, our bottles are recycleable. But we want to do more. We’re continually looking for ways to lighten our impact on the planet. That means composting and recycling in our office, and working with our vendors and suppliers to always consider the green option when sourcing materials.

Preserving the environment is important to us, so we believe in using the resources of the earth wisely. We've started a “go green” campaign at Metromint. Our goal is to become a Certified Green Business by the City of San Francisco and receive a Waste Reduction Award from the State of California by 2009.
